BRIG Darrell Duncan

Brigadier Darrell Duncan enlisted into the 2/17 Battalion Royal New South Wales Regiment in 1977 and served in the University of New South Wales Regiment until his appointment as a Lieutenant Undergraduate medical student in 1980.

During his 30 years plus service BRIG Duncan’s postings have included:

Exchange Officer US Army Medical Department Combat and Doctrine Development (San Antonio Texas)

As a member of the Army Reserves BRIG Duncan had postings as a Projects Officer at LHQ and his present posting of Senior Health Advisor HQ 2 Div which he undertook from January 2006.

BRIG Duncan has received the following awards:

AASM with Somalia, East Timor, ICAT and Iraq Clasps

ASM with Namibia Clasp

Iraq medal

UN Medal for Namibia

UN Medal for East Timor

US Meritorious Service Medal

In his civilian capacity BRIG Duncan is working as a specialist medical administrator with the ADF on contract and has previously worked in the NSW Department of Health and the Central Coast Area Health Service

BRIG Duncan educational qualifications include:

Graduate Diploma in Health Informatics

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

Masters in Public Health

Masters in Health Administration

BRIG Duncan is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators

BRIG Duncan has been married to Adele for last 24 years and they have 4 children, aged 23, 21, 17 and 14. They live on Central Coast of NSW with the youngest two children.
